A Historic Agreement??

Agreement reached in Iran nuclear deal.  Today according to our president a historic agreement was made with Iran concerning their pursuit of nuclear weapons. In times like these I find myself often thinking about the future. The future that my children, my grand-children, my great grand-children will live in. Because I understand that today’s decisions can have long-range consequences.

I also understand that time has a way of rewriting history. For that reason, (and not knowing what the future might bring) I want record the comments made by our president today regarding this “historic agreement. If at some future time we find ourselves suffering the consequences of decisions made by others it would be good to have an accurate record. So for my children and their children’s, children this is for you.

From a speech made by President Barrack Obama on July 14th 2015 regarding the agreement reached with Iran to prevent the acquisition of nuclear weapons.

Today, after two years of negotiations, the United States, together with our international partners, has achieved something that decades of animosity has not — a comprehensive, long-term deal with Iran that will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Today, because America negotiated from a position of strength and principle, we have stopped the spread of nuclear weapons in this region. Because of this deal, the international community will be able to verify that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not develop a nuclear weapon.

Because of this deal, Iran will remove two-thirds of its installed centrifuges — the machines necessary to produce highly enriched uranium for a bomb — and store them under constant international supervision.

Because of this deal, Iran will modify the core of its reactor in Arak so that it will not produce weapons-grade plutonium.

Finally, Iran is permanently prohibited from pursuing a nuclear weapon under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

I am confident that this deal will meet the national security interest of the United States and our allies. So I will veto any legislation that prevents the successful implementation of this deal.

  1. I also find historic how the president was making an arms deal and chose to ignore the American Citizens still in captivity, especially Pastor Saeed who is being brutally persecuted with no offer of hope from the Obama Administration. Such a sad day. I believe also that this deal will fail. Iran cannot and should not be trusted. If they are that callous and brutal with human beings, what makes us think they will stay true to this deal? Makes you question a lot of things, especially from the White House.

    1. There are so many things wrong with this “agreement” I don’t know where to begin. The words from his speech (like those of Neville Chamberlain (after meeting with Hitler, peace in our time) will I fear in the years to come be a haunting reminder of how wrong he (Obama) was.

  2. Obama is either ignorant, or really trying to destroy America. Maybe both. I will give honor to whom honor is due. This man does not earn or deserve my respect. He is a liar and deceiver, and the truth is not in him.
