Hear my cry O God;
Hear me, O God, when I cry;
listen to my prayer.
You are the One I will call when pushed to the edge,
when my heart is faint.
Shoulder me to the rock above me.
For You are my protection,
an impenetrable fortress from my enemies.
Let me live in Your sanctuary forever;
let me find safety in the shadow of Your wings. Psalm 61:1-4
As we observe the events taking place in our world, we must refuse to just chalk it up as “that’s just the way things are” or the religious response “it’s just because of sin”. It is the way things are, and it is because of sin, but it is not what God wants for this world. It is the other being that “kills, steals, and destroys”.
As Christians we cannot just dismiss the evil in our world with a cliché and go about our business.
It is past time to call on the God of heaven and earth and stand against the darkness.
We are in day 22 of prayer for America.
