Repentance

Day 40-Repentance

The events taking place in our nation including today’s election are secondary to the thing that is most important to God.
People
Isaiah wrote:
“People who sat in great darkness, have seen a great light. And for those who lived in a land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.” Isaiah 9:2

I am confident that regardless of what takes place today or in the days ahead, that based on these words, the foretelling of the Savior, Jesus Christ, the best is yet to come.
But I am also mindful that the light shines on what is needed most in our nation.
Repentance.
God spoke these words to Solomon many years ago, and they ring true today

“If they turn from your wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”

Governments and leaders have the power to influence our decision as a nation to turn from our sin or not.
But in the end it is a choice each individual must make.
The future of our nation will be decided here, not in who we choose as president.

Lord I pray today that You would forgive us our sins. That You in Your grace and mercy would lead us as a people and a nation out of darkness.
And in doing so by Your Spirit would help us to turn from our wicked ways, to Your Savior Jesus Christ and heal our nation.
In His name
Amen
