Deep breaths, relax…
The election is over who will be president has been decided.
Yesterday morning I felt peace, I felt encouraged and even a sense of contentment. Not because of the way the election turned out (that was some of it), but in part because contrary to what many believe and predicted the political process in our nation still works. And most important as predicted God is still on his throne.
As the day wore on I began to feel less and less of that peace and contentment. Reading comments on social media and on major news outlets, it is clear some things remain the same post November 8th. I think this would be a great time to disengage from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Fox, CNN and escape the clamor about all that’s not right for a season.
Take a some time as Tim McGraw sings
“Cry a little less, laugh a little more
Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear
Figure out just what I’m doin’ here”.
Take some time to reflect on all the good things that we have, pray about the things that are not so good, and see what God might have to say. What He would have us do to be part of the solution, part of the healing.
Thanks to all of you who followed and prayed during 40 Days of Prayer for America. I felt God’s presence and your prayers each day. I know God is pleased and honored when we trust and call out to Him.
The work is not finished, please continue to pray…
