40 Days of Hope-Day 29
Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, – Ephesians 5:25-26
In this passage of Scripture where husbands are instructed on how to love their wives, we also find help and hope, Christ partnering with us, to live holy, radiant, and blameless lives.
According to Scripture this is accomplished as we are washed by the cleansing of God’s word.
My attention was drawn to this amazing hope, when a good friend sent me this message today:
Remember when you were buried over your head in sin, but reached for Him,
He took your hand,
pulled you out,
set your feet on the rock,
and with His blood forgave all your sins past, present, and future.
Even now He continually washes the mire off with the water of the word.
Good word from a good friend that reminds us of an important truth.
The Word of God has cleaning power in every situation we may face, through His ongoing work in our lives.
Sin- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. –
1 John 1:9
Doubt – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
Fear- The Lord is my light and my salvation;whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life;of whom shall I be afraid? – Psalm 27:1
Fail- For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
Worry-. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:5-6
Lose hope- We who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul. – Hebrews 6:18-20
His Word washes away
Sin and brings forgiveness,
Doubt and brings faith
Fear and brings courage
Failure and provides grace
Worry and brings peace
Hopelessness and brings confidence.
Thank you Danny for the reminder.
