When He Returns

2017-01-12-08-19-19-606346309What will you be doing?

My friend Jack shared a story recently about a friend who would never participate in partying and drinking. When asked why, he responded

” my Jesus is coming back I don’t want to be doing that when He does”. A very sobering statement…(pun intended)

But really do we live every day with the expectation that today could be the day, the day of His return?

This passage from Revelations 19 provides a picture of what it will look like when He comes again…

I looked up and saw that heaven had opened. Suddenly, a white horse appeared. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with righteousness He exercises judgment and wages war.  His eyes burn like a flaming fire, and on His head are many crowns. His name was written before the creation of the world, and no one knew it except He Himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name He was known by is The Word of God.  And the armies of heaven, outfitted in fine linen, white and pure, were following behind Him on white steeds.  – Revelation 19:11-14

So my question for you today is where do you want to be when He returns?  What do you want to be found doing?

  1. i think i simply want to be living the life He gave me … whatever that is at the time. i don’t want to live thinking everything i do must be some BIG “I’m Serving God” moment Just-In-Case He comes back right now and ‘finds’ me. He sees me all the time. i’m always ‘found’ by Him. so i want to simply be living.
