The men of Issachar understanding the times…..
Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.
1 Chronicles 12:32
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. –
Understanding, wisdom and action. Critical components in making the most of the opportunities we have. Why? Because most of the world is in a state of crisis brought on by morally bad decisions and actions, bringing harm, injury, disaster. The days, the times, are indeed in evil, in crisis brought on by evil.
While there are many ways to approach the problems of our day, we need understanding, tempered by wisdom, to make the most of every opportunity we have. And the lessons we can learn from the men of Issachar?
One-they took the time to find out what God was in. Saul the king God rejected was dead. David anointed by Samuel to be king, chosen by God was waiting.
Two- They made a decision to be part of it. “These are the numbers armed for battle who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul’s kingdom over to David”
In whatever crisis or situation we should always pray, and study the Scriptures to gain understanding and wisdom, that we might understand the times and make the most of every opportunity.
