In one day He changed everything…..
Maybe it’s a prayer for healing that’s needed.
Maybe it’s a prayer for comfort for the grief that never seems to go away
Maybe its a prayer for a loved one who is in trouble.
Maybe it’s a feeling of being alone and forgotten.
Maybe it’s a prayer for those you’ve never met but have touched your heart and the burden is heavy.
Maybe you wonder if God is really there….
We pray for many things and the answers do not always come quickly.
The prophet Zechariah spoke to the Jewish exiles hundreds of years before the Messiah came.
He encouraged the people to turn to God and continue the work of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem which had been destroyed.
He encouraged them with visions that assured them of God’s control over everything and the coming new kingdom of the Messiah.
And then in chapter three these words are recorded;
“Listen, O high priest Joshua and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come:
I am going to bring my servant, the Branch, and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day. (Zechariah 3:8-9)
God kept His promise and answered every prayer on a hill called Golgatha.
In one day He changed the past, present and the future.
Healing, comfort, peace, freedom, acceptance, salvation and redemption made available to everyone.
And He will answer your prayer.
Help us Lord to turn to You in our trouble and need, and to continue the work You have called us to do.
While we wait for that one day when your answer comes.
Thank you Pastor John Lindell for your message on Good Friday that inspired this writing.
I have been blessed, encouraged, and inspired by your ministry more times than I can count.
