The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. –
In our world of instant communication via social media we can touch people with our thoughts (solicited or unsolicited) in multitude and magnitude unimaginable to past generations.
The descriptive “viral” is a 21st century term relating to or involving an image, video, piece of information, etc., that is circulated rapidly and widely from one Internet user to another.
The impact of our social media posts are judged by the amount of emoticons and comments it generates.
But do we ever stop to think about the impact what we express may have?
Is it promoting thoughts that create or thoughts that hate?
There is something deeper that occurs when we voice our thoughts verbally or electronically. A response to the deluge of information we are exposed to that is not always visible.
Proverbs describes this expression of our thoughts through our words as having the power to promote life or death.
And we see our digital footprints leading to expressions of compassion and love and also to expressions of hate and violence in the physical world where these words of life and death are spoken.
Life and death in the power of what we say.
So if we accept the truth of Scripture we must accept that we have to choices in how we choose to express our thoughts.
We can choose life or death.
We can choose to be a creator or a hater.
Which one will you choose?
