Do any of these words describe you? Hurried. Scattered. Stuffed. Forgetful. Busy. Behind. Broke?
For most of us the days leading up to Christmas is a whirlwind of activity. Last minute shopping, planning meals, attending parties, children and grandchildren Christmas programs. And in the midst of all of that work.
We have in our mind what the perfect Christmas will be and give our energy and time to make it happen. As we rush around from task to task and place to place we can lose sight of the reason we celebrate.
It’s not about a perfect Christmas. It’s about Christmas.
its about spending time family and friends. Its about reaching out to those who are going through tough times. Its about sharing what we have. Most of all its about the arrival of hope that came packaged as a baby on that first Christmas day so many years ago. So this morning on the eve of Christmas take a minute to be thankful, slow down and enjoy. The presents will be opened, the food will be eaten, the family will be together, and even if its not perfect memories will be made.
Most of all His promise of “peace on earth, goodwill to men” and His arrival as Savior still stands as the only perfect Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all of you!
